Art at the Crossroads: Venice in the Sixties

Art at the Crossroads: Venice in the Sixties
26TH SEPTEMBER 2008 – 9TH NOVEMBER 2008
Palazzo Giustian Dei Vescovi
Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia

The intention of Art at the Crossroads: Venice in the Sixties is to serve as an invitation to revisit a relatively recent chapter in art history — albeit one over which an unwarranted silence has fallen. In a Venice dominated by some of the greatest masters of Italian art (Virgilio Guidi, Mario De Luigi, Emilio Vedova), a new generation of artists took shape and began to grow in that decade.
The ART AT THE CROSSROADS exibith also incudes an homage to artists as
Raoul Schultz and Carlo Hollesch.

Michele Sambin is an example of an intermedia artist who explored the possibilities of video and of installation projects. Sambin focused on the Venetian landscape, characterized by its lagoons, and on the interaction between lagoon.
